Hair transplantation
Hair transplantation involves taking hair follicles and transplanting them to the hairless scalp. Primarily, this treatment is intended for people struggling with androgenetic alopecia (male or female type). It also helps with alopecia areata and hair loss due to various injuries (for example burns).
Thanks to it, the patient will be able to enjoy the beautiful, lush hairstyle again, regain self-confidence and a sense of attractiveness.
What is Artas iX hair transplantation?
What is the Artas iX robot?
Artas iX is a robot designed by the American company called Restoration Robotisc. The best doctors, engineers and scientists have taken part in its development. In this way, breakthrough technological achievements have been adapted to the needs of contemporary medicine. The robot was launched in 2019 and since that day it has revolutionized hair transplantation.
How does the Artas iX robot work?
Artas iX uses an algorithm based on artificial intelligence called Artas artificial intelligence. The computer system assesses the quality of hair units (graphs) and selects the best follicles from the donor area. The medical robot is able to collect up to 1,000 hair follicles per hour and make up to 2,000 places for implantation. The angle and depth of puncture are precisely measured which provide the significant comfort for patient during the procedure. The device works very accurately and the repeatability of movements guarantees a much better effect than in the case of traditional transplantation where there is a risk of a human error. All hair structures are taken for the treatment. After transplantation hair grows just like they used to and having the hairstyle before the procedure does not take long time.
- Hair transplantation lasts about 4 to 8 hours.
- It is performed by a medical robot assisted by a team of specialists.
- The effects are visible after one treatment.
Poland takes the 8th place in the ranking of the most balding nations
Where do we get hair for transplantation?
The hair for transplantation is taken from the occiput (back of the head), because there the hair follicles are not subjected to the miniaturization process. The hair at the top of the head is sensitive to hormones (DHT – dihydrotestosterone), so it falls out. It is thinner of a lighter shade and it is getting shorter. At the final stage of the process it begins to resemble a baby hair. In the telogen stage it falls out and in its place is not produced new hair. The hair on the occipital part of the head is resistant to DHT. It contains more pigment (usually it is slightly darker) and it is thicker and stronger. It forms into small grafts – 2-3 hair follicles in each. The grafts are perfectly to be a donor area for transplantation (the whole grafts can be collected).

The effects of the procedure
It is advised to avoid intense physical effort, do not wear a tight headgear and moisturise the recipient area with saline solution (eschars that will appear after taking the hair follicles should mend within a week) within about 5 to 14 days after the procedure. New hair begins to grow back within a few months after the procedure. After about 9 months, the bald spot should become completely invisible and the patient can enjoy a lush and natural hairstyle.
